To day we’re sharing a trick that will be very useful when working on your macrame projects with long cords. Sometime the cords tend to become a mess and you spend more time trying to untangle them than enjoying your new project. With this simple trick, you’ll be able to make them shorter and work more comfortably with them.

For this step by step, we’ve chosen to use one skein of Mini Cordage Yarn.

The first thing we will do is take the end of the cord in one hand, as you can see in the image above.  You should leave a piece that isn’t too long that you can later use to knot the cord to make sure  it doesn’t come undone.

Here is a video so you can see how we make the rope shorter:

Como has visto es muy fácil.

Remember to be careful when pulling the string off your fingers so it won’t come undone.  The short part of the cord to make the knot should be on the left and the rope with which you will be working the macrame knots on the right.

Once you’ve made the central knot and the cord is secured, you can continue working on your project.

We hope that this tip will be very useful to you, and you will see how making macramé with long strings is much easier from now on.  As always, we are eager to see your new projects, so share them on social media with the hashtag #weareknitters 🙂
