Hi knitters!

In this post we will teach how to do a different kind of Jacquard.

For those of you who still doesn’t know what Jacquard is all about, no worries. It is an old technique that allows you to make figures with different wool colors, following a pre-established pattern.

This technique is usually applied when you knit in Stockinette Stitch. Because of the way this stitch looks, the effect will be more visible.

Of couse you can learn how to knit Jacquard following the instructions we show in this video. But today we will show you how to do it with a little knitter’s sewing needle.

Step2-jacquard

By knitting this kind of Jacquard you’ll be able to customize your knitwear once you’re done. You can give a completely different look to your old sweater and reinvent it using different wool colors. Do this by creating original figures. You’ll only need some time and imagination.

The first step is to choose a color different to the one of your project.

step3-jacquard

From the back to the front we introduce the first thread of wool.

Once you have the little sewing needle in the front, move the needle upwards like shown in the picture. All you need to do is to re-do some of the figures of your already knitted project.

step4-jacquard

Move the little sewing needle upwards and downwards all the time. It is a mechanic movement that doesn’t require a lot of concentration nor effort.

step5-jacquard

The back side will look good too and it doesn’t increase a lot the volume of your knitwear.

Follow the steps as shown in the pictures of this post and you’ll see how fast you’ll do it!
