This stitch is a variation of the basketweave stitch, a stitch that is very easy to recognize as it forms little waves and as you can see from its name it looks a little like a basket. If you want the waves to be a little less noticeable you can block it after you have finished knitting. But the texture really looks better this way!
It might seem a little difficult to knit, but in the end all you have to do is follow the instructions combining knitted and purled stitches.
The number of stitches needs to be a multiple of 18 + 10. It is not reversible but it looks nice on both sides.
Row 1: *knit 11 stitches, purl 2 stitches, knit 2 stitches, purl 2 stitches, knit 1 stitch*, repeat from * to * until you only have 10 stitches left and knit them.
Row 2: purl 1 stitch, knit 8 stitches, purl 1 stitch, * purl 1 stitch, (knit 2 stitches, purl 2 stitches) repeat the instructions in brackets two times, knit 8 stitches, purl 1 stitch*, repeat from * to * until you have completed the row.
