Hi knitters!
Today we show you a new knitting technique: tile stitch.
Tile stitch alternates knitting and purling, to have a beautiful printing on your entire WAK garment. It’s recommended for large garments and accessories, like blankets or oversized sweaters.
First, cast on a number of stitches multiple of 14+2 stitches on a WAK wooden needle.
Rows 1 and 3: knit 1 stitch and purl 1 stitch. *Knit 5 stitches and purl 2 stitches. Repeat the step *to* until you have 7 stitches left. Knit 5 stitches, purl 1 stitch and knit 1 stitch
Even rows: purl all stitches
Rows 5, 7, 9, 11: knit 2 stitches, *purl 5 stitches and knit 2*. Repeat the step *to* until you have 7 stitches left. Purl 5 stitches and knit 2.
Repeat these 12 rows on your entire WAK garment! 🙂
As you can see, this technique is very easy: perfect for beginner and advanced knitters, perfect for knitting cotton or wool, perfect for winter evenings…
