Hello knitters!

Diamonds are knitter’s best friends!

Today we want to show you how to make a shape of diamonds on your WAK projects. If you want to knit diamonds, you need to alternate knitted stitches and purled stitches. We propose you follow this pattern in order to knit diamonds on your WAK garments.

Cast on a number of stitches multiple of 18 + 1 stitch.

Row 1 and all the odd rows: knit all the stitches.

Row 2: knit 2 stitches, *purl 6 stitches, knit 3 stitches*. Repeat this scheme (*) until you have 8 stitches left; purl 6 and knit 2.

Row 4: purl 6 stitches, *knit 7 stitches, purl 11 stitches*. Repeat this scheme (*) until you have 13 stitches left; knit 7 and purl 6.

Row 6: purl 4 stitches, knit 11 stitches, purl 7 stitches*. Repeat this scheme (*) until you have 15 stitches left; knit 11 and purl 4.

Row 8: purl 2 stitches, *knit 15 stitches, purl 3 stitches*. Repeat this scheme (*) until you have 17 stitches left; knit 15 and purl 2.

Row 18: purl 6 stitches, *knit 7 stitches and purl 11 stitches*. Repeat this scheme (*) until you have 13 stitches left; knit 7 and purl 6.

Row 20: knit 8 stitches, *purl 3 stitches and knit 15 stitches*. Repeat this scheme (*) until you have 11 stitches left; purl 3 and knit 8.

Row 22: purl 6 stitches, *knit 7 stitches and purl 11 stitches*. Repeat this scheme (*) until you have 13 stitches left; knit 7 and purl 6.

Row 24: purl 4 stitches, *knit 11 stitches and purl 7 stitches*. Repeat this scheme (*) until you have 15 stitches left; knit 11 and purl 4 stitches.

Repeat this pattern so many times as needed to get the diamonds.

For this post we have used a 100% pima cotton yarn ball in yellow and 5mm beechwood needles.

You can also choose another yarn ball type or color to knit your diamonds. To get bulky diamonds and a bigger shape, you need to knit with wool or petite wool yarn balls.
