Hi knitters!

Today we are going to learn how to knit the “Citrine Stitch“. This stitch forms ¨little balls¨ in relief, and although it may look like the Bobble Stitch, it is knit in a completely different way.

The look will change a lot depending on the thickness of the wool you knit with, try to knit the stitch with thick yarn or fine yarn and you will see the difference! Another interesting thing about this stitch is that we can control the volume of the balls that appear in the knitted project: flatten with your hand or give it a form to stand out more or less.

This stitch is a multiple of 5 and is not reversible.

Row 1: Knit 3 stitches. *Knit the following stitch, returning the stitch on the left needle and knit again with the thread in the rear.* Repeat * to * three times and knit a stitch. Repeat this until the end of the round.

Row 2: Purl all the stitches.

Row 3: Knit a stitch.  *Knit the following stitch, returning the stitch on the left needle and knit again with the thread in the rear.* Repeat * to * three times and knit three stitches. Repeat this until the end of the row.

Row 4: Purl all the stitches.

Repeat these four rows until you have obtained the desired length.

Although it is an easy stitch, you will have to work some stitches several times with the thread in the rear and in the front.

As you can see, you can knit this stitch without having to increase or diminish anything, so it is easy even for beginners. If you know how to knit and purl, you can knit the Citrine Stitch. It would be great on the front of a sweater!

For this post we have used 15mm Beechwood Wooden Knitting Needles  and Peruvian Wool.

Knitters, don’t forget to share your projects on Instagram using the hashtag #weareknitters. We are looking forward to your pictures! 🙂
